Transparency International's 2021 Corruption Perceptions Index ranks the country in 110th place out of 180 countries evaluated. The index examines public sector corruption; countries whose public sectors are perceived to be more corrupt receive a higher ranking. "Even though Thailand has the legal framework and a range of institutions to effectively counter corruption, all levels of Thai society continue to suffer from endemic corruption."
