Burnet Hershey (13 December 1896 – 13 December 1971) was a war correspondent and writer of plays, screenplays, and books including accounts based on his experiences during the World War I and World War II eras. His work includes screenplays and an article on the munitions trade that was adapted to film. He was born in Romania and came to the United States with his parents Josef Hirsh Bertha née Bughici Hirsh in 1899. He went to public schools in New York City and Columbia University School of Journalism. He had a brother Abraham and two sisters, Epvira and Elizabeth.
