Der Orden des Erlösers, mit vollständigen Namen Orden des Erlösers des kostbaren Blutes Jesu Christi in dem Herzogtum Mantua, war ein italienischer Ritterorden. Die Stiftung erfolgte Pfingsten 1608 durch Herzog Vincent von Gonzaga in der Kirche des heiligen Andreas in Mantua. Hier sollen die Blutstropfen des Heilandes der Legende nach in einem Kästchen aufbewahrt worden sein. Jährlich wurde in dieser Kirche der Ordenstag gefeiert. Die Anzahl der Ritter war auf zwanzig festgesetzt, wobei 14 bei der Stiftung anwesend waren.Um 1708, nach dem Tode des Herzogs Carl IV., kam der Orden samt dem Herzogtum an das Haus Österreich. rdf:langString

Blood of Jesus Christ, or Blood of Christ, was a military order instituted at Mantua by Vincenzo I Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua, approved on 25 May 1608 by Pope Paul V. The motto of the order was Domine probasti me, or that Nihil hoc triste recepto. speaks of the order and observes that it took its name from some drops of the blood of Jesus, said to have been preserved in the cathedral church of Mantua.
