Its principal concert venue is the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts (Bozar). The orchestra also gives concerts outside of Brussels in such cities as Sankt-Vith and Hasselt.

A Orquestra Nacional da Bélgica (em nederlandês Nationaal Orkest van België e em francês Orchestre National de Belgique) é a mais antiga orquestra da Bélgica e uma das maiores do país, ao lado da Orquestra Filarmônica de Liège. A orquestra foi fundada em 1931 por Désiré Defauw como Orquestra Sinfônica de Bruxelas e reorganizada em 1936, quando recebeu o nome atual. A orquestra apresenta setenta concertos anuais com noventa e três músicos. A orquestra também trabalhou com maestros ilustres como Karl Böhm, Désiré Defauw, Erich Kleiber e Pierre Monteux.

Het Belgian National Orchestra (vroeger: Nationaal Orkest van België), is een van de bekendere van België, opgericht in 1936. Het orkest heeft als thuisbasis het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten (Bozar) in Brussel en wordt gesubsidieerd door de federale overheid. Het orkest bestaat uit 74 musici. Per seizoen verzorgt het Nationaal Orkest van België ongeveer zeventig concerten in België en daarbuiten. Het orkest werkt ook mee aan educatieve projecten en begeleidt het verschillende muziekwedstrijden, waaronder de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd. De finales van de zangwedstrijd en de cellowedstrijd hiervan (sinds 2017) begeleidt het orkest echter niet. De finale van de zangwedstrijd wordt begeleid door het Symfonieorkest van De Munt en die van de cellowedstrijd door het Brussels Philharmonic. Het NOB profileert zich als een ‘nationaal’ Belgisch orkest door samen te werken met het Festival van Vlaanderen én het en door te spelen in alle Vlaamse provinciehoofdsteden, Luik, Charleroi, Namen en Doornik, Oostende, Eupen en Virton, waardoor het alle drie de taalgemeenschappen bereikt. Ook speelt het orkest in het buitenland, zoals in het Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Parijs, Japan, Zwitserland, Duitsland en Spanje. De hoofdmoot van het repertoire van het Belgian National Orchestra is het symfonische repertoire van de 19e en de 20e eeuw, maar ook programmeert het orkest filmmuziek en hedendaagse muziek uit de 20e en 21e eeuw. In die optiek werkte het orkest samen met pop-rock-artiest Ozark Henry. Solisten die met het orkest speelden zijn onder andere Vadim Repin, Gidon Kremer, Boris Berezovski , Rolando Villazón, Sergej Khachatryan, Nelson Freire, Elisabeth Kulman, Alexander Gavrylyuk en Lorenzo Gatto. In juli 2021 werd de benoeming van de Nederlander Antony Hermus bekendgemaakt tot chef-dirigent als opvolger van Hugh Wolff met een contract voor vier jaar, te beginnen met het seizoen 2022-2023.
