It emerged from bankruptcy March 16, 2010. On July 1, 2015, Pacific Ethanol, Inc. acquired Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings, Inc. through merger with AVR Merger Sub, Inc., one of Pacific Ethanol's wholly owned subsidiaries.
