Deleglise, a man of vision and courage, came to the area in 1877 when Langlade County was still a part of Oconto. His was the first house, a log cabin. Our forefathers had the foresight to preserve this first home and had it moved to the site of the public library, now the home of the Langlade County Historical Society Museum. The Deleglise Cabin was completely restored with the surveyor's office and kitchen lean-tos added on. It is available for viewing on the museum grounds.
