Dore Abbey, the 1147 Cistercian abbey, which is still used as the village place of worship, is nearby. In April 2010 and September 2011, Abbey Dore Court was the subject of a Channel 4 television documentary presented by hotelier Ruth Watson as part of her Country House Rescue series. The property was sold in 2018 and is now privately owned.
