The 78th Oregon Legislative Assembly convened beginning on February 2, 2015, for the first of its two regular sessions. All of the 60 seats in the House of Representatives and 14 of the 30 seats in the State Senate were up for election in 2014; the general election for those seats took place on November 4, 2014. The Democratic Party of Oregon expanded its majority in the Senate to 18–12 and its majority in the House to 35–25.
