The tournament consists of 16 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. On 15 October 2006, Rathkenny claimed their 2nd Intermediate championship title when they defeated Drumconrath 1-10 to 2-6, succeeding Duleek as Intermediate champions. Slane were relegated from this grade, after 7 years as an Intermediate club.
